The New Jersey Zero-Emission Incentive Program (NJ ZIP) is a new voucher pilot program for medium-duty ZEVs. The New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) launched the program on April 6th, 2021.
Funds will be disbursed on a first-come, first-served basis. A total of $15,000,000.00 is available. Class 4 vehicles are eligible for a base voucher amount of $75,000.00.
Voucher bonuses are as follows:
Certified woman, minority, or veteran-owned business
$4,000.00 per vehicle
Small business (having 25 or fewer full-time employees in total OR less than $5M in annual revenue)
25% increase of the base voucher amount
Small business vehicle scrappage
$2,000.00 per vehicle scrapped and replaced with a NJ ZIP voucher-funded ZEV
Driver readiness and education
$2,000.00 per vehicle if vendor provides training and demonstrations/test drives to public
Eligible applicants include commercial, industrial, or institutional organizations registered to conduct business or operations in NJ.
Vehicles funded through the program must be registered in the State of New Jersey for a minimum of 3 years and meet one of the following requirements:
